I know you're not supposed to have favourites amongst your children, but what can I say? This 95x65cm charcoal drawing is probably the work I would first try to save if my studio was burning down!
Discovered on a very obscure bit of wild woodland on Dartmoor, this tree was crying out to be drawn.
The drawing was made with every charcoal trick I could think of - from charcoal dust to charcoal pencil and from putty rubber to electric eraser.
Nothing about the making of this drawing was easy, but it taught me a great deal about how to capture depth and energy.
This work is available for £1500 from my Portfolio/Shop by clicking here (but if you buy it, I'll have to demand occasional visiting rights...)
