My 1of1's are a series of 'saved' prints - each being a section taken from a full-sized print where, for one reason or another, something went wrong during the printing process!

The section I've selected for each 1of1 is a flawless part of the unfortunate original that may have suffered from an issue with ink coverage, registration or some other disaster that occured during the process of printing.

In some ways a pointed reflection on my skills as a printmaker (or on my inclination to be too ambitous) these little prints are survivors of a process that can see a relatively high rate of attrition (especially when a print comprises more than one colour, where I usually expect to lose around 10% of the edition at each colour stage).

But these otherwise lost images find a new life in this 'mini-print' format, and they work really well as individual pictures or in small groups.

Each print is supplied ready framed - the frame measures 17.5 x 17.5cm - the image area is 10 x 10cm. The frames have fixings that enable them to be hung on a wall and they also have a pull out stand so they can be placed on a flat surface.

The name of each 1of1 matches that of the full-sized print from which it is derived (many of the full-sized prints can be found here).

No two 1of1 prints is the same as another - hence... 1 of 1
